So I was crusing the Apple Quicktime Trailers site like I’ve done for the past 10 years or so and I stumble upon the trailer for ‘Gooby’. Go ahead, watch it, I’ll wait right here.

Seriously, wtf? I’ve always thought about writing a movie about Teddy Ruxpin on crack, but, dagnabbit, someone already beat me to it. Let me impart on you this little gem from the synopsis.

“Gooby fulfills Willy’s wish by bringing Willy and his dad (David James Elliott, “JAG”) together in a heart-warming and exciting climax.”

I wish there were more I could add to that, but, I’m spent. This trailer speaks for itself.

So.. look at that.. Stephen Colbert gets a room named after him on the International Space Station.

“The name “Colbert” beat out NASA’s four suggested options in the space agency’s effort to have the public help name the addition. The new room will be launched later this year.

NASA’s mistake was allowing write-ins. Colbert urged viewers of his Comedy Central show, “The Colbert Report” to write in his name. And they complied, with 230,539 votes. That clobbered Serenity, one of the NASA choices, by more than 40,000 votes. Nearly 1.2 million votes were cast by the time the contest ended Friday.”

I don’t know about you, but, I would have settled for Serenity or Colbert. One thing they don’t have to worry about in outer space is bears. Oh man, unless there are space bears, that right there is terrifying.
