The case of the racist Nikon camera..

posted 6 months ago

So it seems like even though Nikon is an asian company, they quite haven’t nailed down the subtleties of their homeland’s eye patterns with the face recognition that is part of their newer point and shoot digital cameras.

We got our Mom a new Nikon S630 digital camera for Mother’s Day and I
was playing with it during
the Angels game we were at on Sunday.

As I was taking pictures of my family, it kept asking “Did someone
blink?” even though our eyes were always open.

Sheesh! RACIST! :P

Wow. You would think this would become a problem over in Japan, you know.. cause they probably take a BILLION photos a day. That’s a lot of blinking.  This might explain the driving thing.

For those interested in learning..

….more about what a community photojournalist is thinking or about photojournalism in general, my friend Katie Derksen has a blog she publishes through her paper in Wisconsin.

She gives more insight than most community photogs I have read.
